The hostels are cheap usually, even cheaper than the hotels are, but they usually are able to propose the minimal set of comfort – the bed, refrigerator, shower room and linen. In additions, sometimes they propose dinners for low prices. As the hostels are visited by the students, these tips are meant for those people who choose a hostel as a place to spend a night.
It is possible to book the place via the internet. Usually they take some money beforehand, it is normal. If you find out that you are placed in the room with other people, make sure that you have the place where to leave your luggage in safe. It is possible to leave it at the bureau, and do not forget to take the bill. Actually, it is better to bring all the valuable things with you (money, cards, jewelry, tickets etc). In order to avoid the troubles with too heavy luggage, think over the things you need. When you try your suitcase at home, it seems to be not so heavy and large, but when you are brining it for some days, you doubt that you need this amount of things on your shoulders.
If you have some spare minutes, find out the fire emergency exit routes. If you leave your room, close the doors and windows.
At the hostel it is better to check how much the telephone conversation and refrigerator food cost. Sometimes it is twice more expensive. Then prefer using your mobile phone and supermarket food. It is worthy checking the bill when you are leaving. It happens that the staff makes mistake and prescribe you the things and services you had not taken. So, ask an administrator about them. A friend of mine was forced to pay for the mystical linen, but with the help of the top manager the case was solved in her favor.
